Your first purchasing decision will be to decide whether you'd rather an inflatable (iSUP) or a rigid board and this depends on budget, storage space and ease of access to your watercourse, but, whichever you choose, the most important issue is to find the dimensions that strike the best balance between stability on the water and optimal glide over it.

They don't provide as much stability as other types of SUP boards, so they're not ideal starting points for newcomers to the world of stand up paddle boarding. If you're looking for sophisticated rail and hull shapes, you likely won't find it in an inflatable board (though pointed noses and rocker are now possible).

However, these sensations are so slight that beginners to stand up paddling will hardly even notice the difference.

When deciding on a paddle board size, it is important to consider where and how you're going to be using it. Short inflatable paddle boards (less than 9′) are easier to maneuver than long boards, and are good for surfing.
